3 Steps to Finding Your Voice
by Tamara Faith
#1 Make Healthy and Positive Declarations
The first step in finding your voice, is knowing and highlighting the positive things that are evident in your life and in who you are as a person. It is important to feed your mind with positive and empowering messages in order to show up in your day to day the best way possible. Positive declarations include the ones listed below:
I am smart, intelligent and grow wiser with each passing day
I am strong beyond my own understanding
I am confident in a bright future up ahead
I make room for the blessings of God to overflow in my life
I am growing into something beautiful as I endure life
I am empathetic to others
I am ready for today to be great!
#2 Defining Strength
The next step, is defining our strength. Strength can be associated with being outspoken, bold, audacious with wants and desires in life. But what if we show up in life differently? Are we not strong? Are we not bold in our own right? As a matter of fact, we are. And it is our differences that make room for us. Often times, people are soft spoken, slow to anger or even modest in their approach in life. This boldness is actually considered meek. Meekness is controlled strength, gentle and mild and can be quite beneficial in various situations. So, if you find yourself in a softer space of expression, just know you are unique, wonderful and you can make a profound impact just the way you are!
#3 Establish Self Worth
The last step in finding your voice, is establishing self worth. There are times in life where we may be mistreated, underestimated or even overlooked for opportunities we know we are good for. People may even mishandle us and in turn such treatment lowers our self-esteem. Although these things may occur, it should never pass judgement on our potential or our gifts. Establishing self worth starts with the following:
Knowing you are enough regardless of any one else's standards.
Setting boundaries while holding yourself and others to them
Being Gentle with yourself when you make a mistake
Saying to yourself what God has already said about you
Gaining confidence in who you are
